Hydrogen: A clean energy carrier

Hydrogen can be produced and become a solution for storing electricity, which can be further used as a carbon-free fuel by the oil and gas industry.

⚈ H2 is a leading candidate as an alternative future fuel.

⚈ The global H2 production is approximately 55 million tons per year and it is almost completely based on fossil fuels (50% natural gas, 30% oil, 20% coal).

⚈ H2 that comes from fossil fuels depends greatly on fuels prices and carbon taxes, while carbon-free sources are clearly independent from similar restriction factors.

⚈ H2 can be also produced by other various processes including High-Temperature H2O electrolysis, which is the main subject of SElySOs.
